To safeguard National Security, U.S. Bans Chinese Telecom Equipment and Surveillance Cameras Huawei, ZTE, Hytera, Hikvision, and Dahua have been formally declared as “unacceptable” national security threat by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).FCC announced that it will no longer authorize electronic equipment from the above mentioned. As of March 12, 2021, all of these Chinese telecom and video surveillance companies were included on the Covered List. The fraudulent scheme, which operated from May to August 2022, netted the actors over $10 million from five victims, the DoJ said.
