Avoid Fast Fashion by composting the New Streetware Clothing Line

Fast fashion is big business but its a big polluter which is responsible for about 10% of global carbon emissions. Roughly 70% of the fashion industry is comprised of articles made from different synthetics or petrochemicals.

Some companies are claiming sustainable clothing lines and there is a very wide variance in what that means. As fast fashion cause high pollution but these sustainable are for some the carbon reduction is present in the manufacturing, while for others it is present in the clothing itself.

The market for plant-based clothing is also growing fast as shown by companies like Activ activewear, Kent underwear and startup.

Unlike today’s mostly petroleum-based clothing, can be compost these clothes. They all are made from 100% plant-based nutrients like recycled cotton,hemp and such plant products.
Many fashion comoanies started because fashion executives that got tired of make and throw away culture of fashion. This new kind of fashion is basically based on a petrochemical or petroleum-based feedstock that also means it’s cheap. It also creates synthetics which are forever materials that never go away.

Liedtke came from brand Adidas, so it is of no surprise that Unless includes footwear along with other apparel and accessories.

Unless has just one pop-up retail store in its own home town of Portland, Ore., in addition to its online salesof products.

Liedtke hopes the company will grow immensely along with the fast-rising consumer demand for greener plant based products , and also plans to collaborate with other brands as more companies look to combat and reduce fashion waste.

Unless recently launched a collaboration with Mammut which is a 160-year-old Swiss climbing company.

These collaborations can also help the company moderate its relatively higher prices.

It would be okay to pay more for sustainable clothing partly, because its just like contribution to helping the planet, and all should contribute the way we can to save our mother nature.

Unless is backed by Connect Ventures which is an investment partnership between Creative Artists Agency and NEA (New Enterprise Associates).
